5 quick gems from this week
Sup friends 👋🏼,
I’m preparing for a short round trip to Portugal this week, so the past week I’ve done my best to enjoy the sunshine, run and spend less time in front of a screen (I’m sure my screen time was way too high, but hey, at least i’m aware of it).
Let’s get to it 🙂

1/How To Stay Calm
Most problems have simple solutions.
Feeling tired? Sleep.
Feeling burned out? Take the day off.
Overthinking? Free write or journal your thoughts.
/2 How to Build a Lean Body
Tough problems = simple solutions.
I’ve been pretty stop-start with my own health journey for the past few years, and came across this simple outlook on what to focus on.
Lift weights 3x per week. Stick to the workouts.
Most calories from high-protein sources.
Measure and track.
7-8 hours of sleep.
Drink water with electrolytes.
/3 How to be an Amazing Parent
Not one I’m needing to perfect just yet in my life, but still useful advice regardless.
Dream of how you want your kid to be - their characteristics & values. Then work backwards from there.
Enjoy your kids (aka have fun along the way).
So if we have a big vision for the life we want, and setup our life to have fun along the way, we’ll be just fine.
Sounds simple.
Everything you need to know to be an amazing parent (and it’s only 2 things):
My oldest is about to turn 21. My youngest is in high school. I’m beginning to see the end of my primary parenting years.
I’ve made every mistake, fought all the wrong battles, and lost my way more… x.com/i/web/status/1…

/4 3 Things Uber Did to Grow in the Early Days
It’s easy to forget that on-demand taxi-hailing was just not a thing before Uber came on the scene.
Three things Uber did to grow fast (TLDR version):
Paying drivers hourly until we had enough riders
Positioning cars in busy areas for faster pickup times
Encouraging riders to refer their friends
Some good insights on a different thinking framework that epitomises the startup get sh*t done culture.
Today, Uber is a $140B company with more than 6 million drivers.
But in the early days, we had to overcome the same chicken and egg problem many startups face:
Without drivers ➡️ riders couldn’t get a car
And without riders ➡️drivers couldn’t make $Here’s how we solved it:

/5 From your Head to the Paper
Sometimes we make too many excuses for why we’ve not made progress on an idea.
It’s either too complicated or we don’t have the resources or some other reason.
All we need to do - is move the idea from our head, to something tangible.
Then we can share it, and then we can grow.
That’s a wrap - let me know your favourite link 🙂
Till next week,
Fahim ✌️
