š Life Advice From My Loved Ones
5 quick gems from this week
sup friends šš¼,
since Iāve been back in London, Iāve had the pleasure of hosting a few elderly family members - one thing Iāve tried to be intentional about is learning their story and the advice they have for the next generation.
Hereās a few of the questions I asked and their responses:
Me: What are you most proud of in your life?
Aunt: āMy kids and all theyāve achievedā š„¹
Me: Whatās your advice to the younger generation?
Uncle: āTravel, explore and see the worldā š
Me: Whatās the secret to a successful and happy marriage?
Uncle: āWhatever disagreements you have, if you agree that you ultimately want to stay together as the end outcome, then you can solve for anything. When you start giving ultimatums, then this is where trouble startsā.
Me: What was your favourite subject at school?
Everyone: ā(After hearing every subject)ā¦wherever my friends were lolā
Says something about the way they carried (and continue to carry) themselves that friendships, family and community are at the heart of everything they do.
Anyway, letās get to it š

/1 Earn With Your Mind
A classic @naval quote - one of the things we can all do is think of how we can move from a ātime-based mindsetā, to a āleverage-firstā mindset.
Paid by outcomes, not by hours worked.
This is a pretty wild story - an internet āfriendā (weāve exchanged like 4-5 āgood newsletter post budā a few times, are we now friends?!) Jason Levin, former Head of Growth at Product Hunt, quit his job on Wednesday and launched his new SaaS company, Memelord Technologies.
Itās gone pretty viral, and the story behind his crazy week is absurdly good.
/3 Seinfeld and Meditation
As always, am a fan of Seinfeld quotes and stories.
This was an interesting snippet from an interview on how meditation gives him the ability to stay high-energy throughout the day.
If most of the world meditated, we probably wouldnāt have half the problems we do.
Time to up my meditation hours. Worth watching the <2min clip.
Nobody explains meditation like Seinfeld.
"It's like you have a cell phone and then somebody gives you the charger. Oh, I can get this thing up to a hundred anytime I want?!
"It doesn't feel like anything. Doesn't do anything. I don't get it. I don't understand it. But here'sā¦ x.com/i/web/status/1ā¦

Pre-Instagram acquistion, facebook were up against it in the photo sharing app space.
They hadnāt shipped anywhere near as quickly as they should, and Instagram was gaining marketshare fast.
Enter Zuck - he had no idea why it took the team so long to ship an app in this space.
This is a true example of Founder Mode in action.
A gem by Morgan Housel on how we need to do things for ourselves, in our own way, to truly live the life we want and be content with.
Read the whole thing, but a few standouts:
You do your best work and have the most fun when youāre not burdened by fear that someone else thinks youāre doing it wrong.
The ultimate success metric is whether you get what you want out of life.
This is a true š all āround.
Thatās a wrap - let me know your favourite link š
